For your final project for history, you need to choose one of these options:

Choose ONE project option below.

OPTION A: History Newspaper 📰

Create a front page of “The California Star” from either 1848 or 1850.

Your newspaper front page should include:

☐ A headline
☐ A news article about an important event
☐ A map
☐ An advertisement from the time period
☐ Pictures or drawings

OPTION B: Historical Journal 📔

Write 5 journal entries as if you are living during this time period.

Choose ONE character to become:

☐ A Mission Native
☐ A Rancho Child
☐ A Forty-Niner
☐ An Immigrant

Your journal entries should describe what life was like from your character’s point of view.

OPTION C: Then & Now Poster 🖼️

Create a poster comparing California in 1769 vs. California Today.

Your poster should include:

☐ At least 6 comparisons
☐ Pictures or drawings
☐ Labels or explanations for each comparison

OPTION D: Gold Rush Interview 🎙️

Write a pretend interview between:

A Reporter and A Real or Imagined Gold Rush Person

Your interview should include:

☐ Historical facts mixed into the interview
